Spring Into Gear: Seasonal Car Care Tips

With warmer weather here, now's the perfect time to give your car a little seasonal TLC. At Wichman Automotive, regular maintenance isn’t just about avoiding breakdowns — it’s about keeping you safe, saving money, and ensuring your ride runs smooth  all year long.

1. Check Your Tires

Winter can be tough on your tires. Fluctuating temps mess with tire pressure, and road salt can eat away at your wheels. Make sure your tires are properly inflated, have even tread wear, and are ready for rainy roads ahead.

Pro Tip: Swing by Wichman Automotive and we’ll do a free pressure check and visual tire inspection.

2. Change Your Oil and Filters

If you haven’t changed your oil in a while, now’s the time. Fresh oil helps your engine stay cool as the temperature rises. And don’t forget about your air and cabin filters — pollen season is here, and clean filters make a huge difference.

3. Test Your Battery

Cold weather drains batteries fast, and if yours struggled through the winter, it might be time to test (or replace) it before the summer heat kicks in. No one wants to be stuck in a hot parking lot with a dead battery.

4. Top Off Fluids

Coolant, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid — spring is a great time to top everything off and check for leaks. Low fluids now can turn into big problems later.

5. Give It a Good Wash (Top to Bottom)

Salt and grime from winter roads can cause rust, especially underneath your vehicle. A good wash — including the undercarriage — will help protect your investment and keep your car looking sharp.

Need a Hand?
Whether it’s a quick check-up or full seasonal service, Wichman Automotive has your back. Stop in or schedule an appointment — we’ll help you get road-ready for spring and summer.

Let’s keep your car running like it should.
